Girls Inc speech

Hi, my name is Salma. When I grow up I want to be an author, and have an organization to help animals, and I also want to act. I want to go to Yale University and study writing. I love to read and write. It helps me relax and express myself. My role model is J.K. Rowling. She is an amazing women who wrote my favorite book series, Harry Potter. My mom and dad both write books and they inspired me to become an author. 

This year I traveled to Mexico. I saw so many stray animals, which was very sad. I had an idea that I could create an organization helping animals around the world. We will raise money for water, food, shelter and medicine. I love animals so much and it’s really sad to see them all alone, so I want to help them. I have already started helping. My friends and I found stray puppies and found a home for them. We also cleaned them and played with them and feed them and gave them medicine. We know they will be happy. I want to do this because I love animals. 

I also love to act. It’s very fun and imaginative. My grandma built me a stage and I love to make up plays with friends. When I grow up I want to become an actress because I love to act so much. It’s probably one of my favorite things to do.

Girls Inc. has made a difference in how strong and confident I am by helping me to practice leadership skills, make new friends, help others, and give speeches. They also have made a difference in my knowledge. I have learned about amazing women who are scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and architects. I have also learned about stereotypes and what people think women and girls should be like when they can be anything they want! So thank you Girls Inc. for everything!
